When faced with an unplanned pregnancy there are many options to explore.  Sometimes it is wise to examine all of your options.  If you are considering parenting, you may also choose to consider abortion  or abortion alternatives such as adoption. The same is true if we are considering adoption. You may also want to consider whether parenting is the right choice for you. Throughout all our lives there are times when we can do certain things best, and there are times when we can't.  Therefore, it is wise to contemplate all of ones options before making a decision.

If you find yourself with an unexpected pregnancy, one of the decisions you should consider is whether now is the right time for you to parent this child. Answering these questions thoughtfully will help you to think through your decision more clearly. Be honest. That is the only way your decision will be the best possible one for you and your unborn baby.

1. What do I want out of my life?

2. Could I handle a child and a job and/or school at the same time?

3. How well have I managed school and/or job and other activities in the past?

5. Give an example of something you would have to give up by having a baby now.

14. Do I want my child to be like me?

15. Would I try to pass my ideas and values on to my child?

16. Do I expect a child to make my life happy?

17. What do I think about having a young child around all the time?

18. Is it easy for me to tell other people what I want, need, or expect of them?

19. Do I want to give my child the love it needs?

20. Am I patient enough to deal with the noise, confusion, and the 24-hour-a-day responsibility of raising a child?

21. How much time and space do I need for myself?

22. How do I handle my anger?

23. What happens when I lose my temper?

24. How will I discipline a child?

27. How will I take care of my child's health and safety?
